BIO:

Swampjaw again. I can't believe how long I've been doing this.

In my abundant spare time, I hack on iPhone/iPad apps. Check out Live Guitar (a guitar app) http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/live-guitar/id434828118?mt=8 -- just five bucks, and free if you ask me. It came out mid-July, so it's brand spankin new, and pretty slick IMO. It's got internal sounds (six of my guitars), that you can play, as well as a way to create new chords and write tablature. There's a free version too -- give it a go! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/live-guitar-free/id455702977?mt=8

Here's a video, so you can check out the app.

If you need a MIDI keyboard/drum pad, I also wrote MIDI Control http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midi-control/id418777577?mt=8 That's just a buck, or free if you drop me a line. My email is pmadden AT acm DOT org.

I'm hoping to get some downloads happening -- so seriously -- let me know if you can use either of these things. Apps don't show up in searches (or pretty much any other way) unless they're getting downloads, so I'm trying to prime the pump by giving direct links and free copies. Both of the apps send MIDI over WiFi, or through a USB connector (using the camera kit).

I'm using the apps on my songs, and have the tag #liveguitar attached to them. I'm also going to tweet with the #liveguitar tag -- the guitar app includes a quasi-tablature thing, which can be used to share chords and lyrics. From the app, you can click on a link to a "chord set," and it'll download into the app.

A friend of mine is a graphic designer, and likes making album covers. Check out his site: http://albumswithoutsound.tumblr.com These are "albums without sound." I'm going to put sound to some of them, but I'm keeping it a secret. The first one will be Takano Station's "Waiting to be Discovered" album. I'll probably do Spearwood next. Not sure how many I'll do. At the end of 50/90, I'll surprise (and probably horrify) him. It's going to be awesome.
..
And an update. Didn't get anywhere on either a Takano Station or Spearwood album. Maybe for FAWM....

Yo - did the song-game videos come out? Would love to see them.

Thanks for your comment on "Anything You Want". There is now a demo: http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/10904

Thanks for listening to my songskirmish :) For the record, I did in fact overdub the vocals... I'm HORRIBLE at singing and playing at the same time, especially on bass... I'm having this problem singing harmonies with a trio now. Something about the conflicting bass rhythm and the melody being different... I'm sure you can relate.

That's cool re:youtube vid; thanks for posting it. I'm not on Facebook so I miss out on a lot :) Thanks for the heads up!

I checked out your friend's site and I love it, very inspirational! I bookmarked your apps, I'll try them when I buy myself a smartphone.

No apology necessary - I loved it! I listened to it after a long day of work and a long happy hour. I love Parliament, so I thought it was cool that you referenced them in your liner notes.

Thanks for your comments on Demons :)

I am busy making pretty sounds! I never said anything about writing new songs... I'm mixing a record, and will start writing new tunes once it's done.

Bwahahahahaha! You're comment on my skirmish cracked me up! :)

Hey, thanks for your comment on the skirmish song Webs! If you wanted to hear a demo, there is one up now! :) http://fiftyninety.fawmers.org/songs/7073

Hey Swampjaw. Thanks for the comments on Phone Jam. And hey, I harbor no ill will towards the iPhone, just the crap service providers that have it. ;-) I will freely admit, however, that during the production of that song I honestly said to Fender, "I wish we had better music apps like on the iPhone."

Regarding your comparison of my "Mule" lyrics to "Hollaback Girl:" Love it! Just went back and checked out the video for that song, and I can certainly imagine her singing/rapping my words. Please do try to do something with them!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment on my skirmish - I love that you can read into it, and I love that people have different ideas about where it's coming from - I'm flattered! :)

Ha! I saw the same article and it made me think of me too :D

Thank you for your nice comment! Would be looking forward if you gave it a go... Greetings!

Wow - your friend's covers are really quite good. What a great idea to set his covers to music. :)
