I keep remembering 50/90 is happening and then immediately forgetting again. I have at length made it to the forums, at least, but I don't know if I'll be doing any songwriting at all. I currently don't have the ability to even do rudimentary recording of melody snippets for my own later reference.
Last year's profile:
Planning is probably not going to work out so well, but here's the headspace I'm in to start out with this year, which may or may not affect my output:
I've been listening to and to some extent studying punk, Sacred Harp, barbershop, bluegrass, and other folk music (especially really early recordings) and pondering their similarities. Also pondering how difficult it would be to start a choir that sings those types of music.
I am a singer first and don't really play any instruments (although I can fake a few), so I rarely get around to adding them to my songs. I may abandon the attempt entirely this year and go for more simple multi-part vocals instead.
Although I've also been trying to find a subgenre of hip-hop that samples acoustic instruments, music boxes, opera, stuff like that, with no luck. And usually if it doesn't exist that means you have to make it yourself. And I do have the perfect source for sampling antique self-playing instruments, not that I know how to hip-hop.
I've got A TON of sets of lyrics that are complete but have no melodies to them (probably as many as I have sets of lyrics with melodies). I'll probably try to record a few of those and/or the handful I finished but didn't get around to recording last 50/90 and last FAWM. I won't count them toward my 50 if I do (well, maybe as half-songs).

I'm unable to post any demos right now (hopefully temporarily), so I'm posting a bunch of songs as lyrics-only for now, and may make heavy use of the updated demo thread later.
