I was the typical consumer-only music fan until getting involved with the filk* community in 2004. Since then, I've spent a lot of time on original music, writing and performing.
Outside of music, my work and play involves computers, cats, cameras, and science fiction and fantasy literature.
Update for 2014:
I'm working at getting my second album finished and onto Bandcamp before 50/90 starts. The plan is to go digital-only this time. Interesting that 17 of the 21 tracks were written for either FAWM or 50/90.

Mid-August and my excuses are: travel, gout, stomach problems, and a torn-up finger. Oh, well...carrying on.
Update for 2015:
I'm looking for a "comeback" year after a few poor FAWM/5090 sessions.
I have a week's vacation booked, starting July 6, in hope that will give me the break out of the gate that I need.
Update for 2016:
I'm thinking July, at least, may be more about words than music. I have my first concert in over a year coming up at the end of that month and my free time until then will be mostly occupied with practice. On the other hand, I can write lyrics while on the subway to work. Maybe concentrate on parodies for a while, those are fun....
Update for 2017:
I haven't been doing much musical stuff lately. Maybe this will turn me around.
Update for 2018:
I officially retired this Spring, which means I have more time for songwriting. There's nothing to distract me except gardening, my own software development projects, a few song circles, an open mic, possibly a folk festival weekend, Stack Overflow, and Facebook.
OK, I have no chance!
