confession: I know I signed up for 50/90, but I have to be honest - my old songs are upset that I haven't taken the time to care about them. The last thing I need is 50 new songs to pile on top of them. I really want to go back and recording and finish and fine-tune the hundred-some-odd songs I have in my repertoire, not to mention the thousands of song ideas that need completing.
my “writer’s block” is actually not what most people say they experience when they’re blocked. i have no problem writing a lot of material. my hangups are getting it into a listenable and sharable format, and then releasing it into the world. where i need the most practice is recording things quickly so the song ideas can be communicated.
I'm now officially letting go of writing ANY new songs for 50/90. I know it's not the "rules," but this is what my muse demands, and so I follow the muse above all else. I have hundreds of songs that need to see the light of day, and the best way I could use this challenge is to take care of my unfinished idea children.
