Writing music is cheaper than therapy, unless you buy gear.
2015 I wrote 66 songs. It was a great learning experience.
2016 I wrote 64 lyrics. Not so many demos or collabs. Life can be like that.
2017 I stopped at 50 lyrics. I was looking through songs to ***MAKE A SERIOUS QUALITY ALBUM***. That pressure killed my momentum. Like I've ever written normal songs? That never stopped me from having fun before! So goodbye quality, hello fun demos. Or something. 19 more songs!
2018 is going to be fun, uptempo, positive songs. I want to do more real life playing. I also want my life to be more fun, uptempo, positive. Someone heard one of my choruses in a loop. "It's catchy, but dark and depressing.. Get rid of it." So I deleted 24 demos, and will try again.
I got my 15 song "Vampirates of Vancouver" concept album written... finally. I'm super far behind on demos. I'm trying to learn Wwise to develop game music and effects. The learning curve is steep, and the demos keep putting me to sleep.
