Christopher Frick is a French horn player, jazz pianist, and composer from Baltimore. He recently released his debut jazz EP, Safe Ground, featuring a collection of compositions from early 2014.
Christopher attended the Baltimore School for the Arts and will attend the Peabody Conservatory as a French horn performance major beginning in the fall of 2014. He has played in masterclasses with horn players Shelley Showers and Frøydis Ree Wekre and worked with jazz musicians and Baltimore School for the Arts alumni Warren Wolf and Tim Green. Christopher was a 2013 recipient of the Ethel Ramos Harris Artistic Achievement Award and a winner of the 2014 Baltimore School for the Arts Concerto Competition. He studies jazz piano with Lafayette Gilchrist and performs regularly throughout the Baltimore area.
In the future, Christopher hopes to work towards a BM degree from Peabody and continue to define his personal style while recording and releasing music on a regular basis.
