I was hearing this in my head as a 12-bar blues rock song when I wrote it, and I'd like to do it that way a little later when I get working on improving my production and electric guitar technique later on. For now, I just wanted to make a quick demo of something like I might do at an open mic.
Get yourself an amplifier, get yourself a guitar
Just cause you can't play it,
ain't no reason you should quit for,
Learn a dozen notes, and maybe two or three chords
Get yourself a bassman and a drummer on board
Fifty dollars gigs at the local bar
Just cause no one's heard of you
Don't mean you ain't no .... Rock Star
Turn it up loud so that the rumble makes the walls shake
That way no one knows it when you make a little mis-take
Miss a little note or two, nobody can tell
If the volume at eleven rings their skull like a bell,
Fifty dollars gigs at the local bar
Just cause no one's heard of you
Don't mean you ain't no .... Rock Star
F# E D C# ... F# E D E
Don't even worry if you can't write songs,
n Just put a good hook in the title
Nobody hears the words anyway
Just scream it in the mike, and you're a Rock Idol
Ladies in the audience get up and shake their booty,
Looking through your goggles every one of them's a cutie
People like to wiggle if you give 'em a beat
So give 'em all a beat and give 'em all they can eat ...
Fifty dollars gigs at the local bar
Just cause no one's heard of you
Don't mean you ain't no .... Rock Star

You have accurately summed up why I'm still doing this. That's my life you're singing there, Woody.
Very funny. I like the whole "big fish in a small pond" attitude...some people are definitely that way.
Good hook
Good lyric
Good delivery.
Love this section--Considerable truth in that I think
Turn it up loud so that the rumble makes the walls shake
That way no one knows it when you make a little mis-take
Miss a little note or two, nobody can tell
If the volume at eleven rings their skull like a bell,
Hey, great hook in that title
