The Rot Band (Nancy Rot, Tommy Rot and Gerald Teacup) decided to do a rondo collab for 50/90. That's six songs total with each member writing a lyric for another member and then doing music for a lyric from each member and finally writing a melody and singing on a song from the other members.)
Hoops: Lyric
Nancy Rot: Music
T.C.: melody, vox, solo
You and I, my oblong friend
Go back such a long way
Been through so much together
Indivisible in our day
You loved me and you needed me
I drove and heeded you
I might not be so great today
If you hadn't pushed me through
But things change
and people change
and you changed
and I changed and
I don't like you anymore
Not sure why I ever did
I don't like you anymore
Not sure if I ever did
We were just forced together
When we were young young young
Geography, proximity
That's why we got along
Okay we had some good times
We learned what good times are
Then Auntie Edith helped me see
Your dimensional facade

Love the tight pop/rock feel here, and some excellent lines in the lyrics! Totally wouldn't have pegged this as a rondo, it's wonderfully cohesive. Really cool tune!
Great work here, the hook is excellent, and I love the vocal effect on the pre-chorus, that's really effective. Like Calum says, there's a lot of development potential in this song, but it's pretty well formed right now.
Great collab! That rhythm is like the rushing train tracks that the vocal melody is cruising on... er, I mean like train tracks that don't move, but the vocals are rushing... Similie fail!
Fun little rocker. I think Calum and I are on the same vibe...the melody reminds me of The Human League tune. Nonetheless, it's pretty cool to me.
Superb backing track by Nancy. Excellent melody and vocal performance by T.C. and nice melodic guitar solo.
The first draft of my lyrics were all serious but I thought they were rubbish so I made them a bit silly - the 'oblong', the 'Auntie Edith' and yet they and the song as a whole have proved popular. Must try to be less embarrassed about serious lyrics. Wish I'd left them as they originally were.
Anyway, you two brought my lyrics to life better than I imagined them. Great stuff!
i was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar...
This is good. I think it'd sound great with a bit of practice. And i mean that in a good way, imagine you'd properly played this for a while live and really got to know the little nooks and crannies. It'd be awesome.
And i loved the last couple of lines of the lyrics (though i admit i've no idea really who Auntie Edith is.)
These lyrics are awesome, and yup, we all know people that we were forced together with but dislike now >.< Awesome vox and lyrics and music
All round awesome track
It's been far too long since we've heard from the Rot Band. Woot! These lyrics are cleverly disguised in an upbeat, awesome rock package that fool you into thinking it's going to a fun, light tune. This probably makes everyone think, yep, I know that person. Well, minus the Auntie Edith, though I have an Auntie Edith, but she never helped me see anything. Wow, that was off topic.
Anyway, you hit the nail on the head with Geography and proximity. That's so true. --- Good solo. I like the vocal FX too. Rock on, Rot Band!
Indivisible! Great movement in the music behind this thing. Interesting, mind bending lyrics. I usually think less-is-more on effects, but I think you used the echo to good vocal effect here. It makes me happy even though the message is not so happy. Good tune, dudes!
Love the way the lyrics turn around in this, and nice little solo before the final chorus. Great collaboration.
