Liner Notes:

This was a whirlwind three-way collab of fun! I sent these lyrics to Gwyn who made this awesome blues track for it. He sang a guide vocal for David and I to follow duet styleee. To add the icing on the cake David played some awesome blues guitar!

Lyrics & Vocals: Georgie
Guitar & Vocals: David
Bass, hammond, banjo, rhythm guitar and BVs: Gwyn

Turn on the news you say to me
Bad things are happ’nin’, you should see
There’s war and famine, people dyin’, and awful tragedy

You tell me ‘bout some dreadful crime
A woman cut off in her prime
There’s liars, thieves, politicians, cheatin’ all the time

Let me wear my rose-tinted glasses and my cloak of denial
I prefer to view the world through the eyes of a child
Call me a dreamer who won’t see life for what it is
You might be right but how about this…
Ignorance is bliss

I hear your voice, see your lips move
As you spin your doom and gloom
But I’m singing, hearts and flowers, in my head I am immune

Safe behind my invisible shield
From the warnings that you wield
The papers stay unread, bagged up and tightly sealed

Let me wear my rose-tinted glasses and my cloak of denial
I prefer to view the world through the eyes of a child
Call me a dreamer who won’t see life for what it is
You might be right but how about this…
Ignorance is bliss

Why darken my blue skies
Just to bring me down to earth
Don’t you know how much a real smile is worth?

While misery loves company
Don’t drag me down with you
Be kind and find somebody else with your point of view

Let me wear my rose-tinted glasses and my cloak of denial
I prefer to view the world through the eyes of a child
Call me a dreamer who won’t see life for what it is
You might be right but how about this…
Ignorance is bliss

if the band tried to write their own take on ball of confusion, it might come out something like this. and georgie adds a whole new dimensio with her country blues vocals. a stunning 3-Way to put into rotation.

Great song. Love the lyrics and sentiment. Rings true for me. Musical composition and production exactly what I’ve come to expect when either of you three are involved…impressive. Bluesy vocals with just the right touch of grit…And some mean guitar playing by DT.

Diggin' the whole package. Vox are top notch and the guits are really clutch! Love the full throttle emotion in all the vox! Sweeet! Some really nice gutteral growls!

David brought his excellent voice and lead playing to this track and with Georgie's fabulous vocals and expertise too...they make this song! Thanks so much to both... Smile

Does these wonderful songs have to stop? Another mind bending collab that makes me ache with the blues! Love it so much!!

The 'I prefer to view the world through the eyes of a child' sentiment is beautiful. Next time someone approaches me with their political vitriol or latest doomsday story, I'm gonna do my best Georgie and David impression (in my head) and politely change the subject Smile This is a gorgeous and well-written blues production! Fun!!

Rrrrrhhhg, this is so enjoyable - the tempo is great - it doesn't drag, but it takes measured steps to get where it's going, and that really makes it feel deliberate. The harmony on the chorus is great, as is the chorus melody. Guitar very enjoyable too, with a nice tone. That bass tone is particularly interesting, really wobbly, fretless(?) sound. Luxurous, high cocoa-solids.

Great blues jam going on here, that chorus is hookalicious, well done on all fronts! Bartender! Get me a bourbon and branch!
Enjoyed my listen.
