Host: @vivalarayna

This kind of fell apart towards the end but I think it has some potential. "Send in the Clowns" is an all-time favorite tune, so I was kind of aiming for a similar thing.

I showed up on time
You were there too
No reason, no rhyme
Nothing else we could do
We used to laugh
So hard we'd cry
Like an old photograph
Faded into its sky
Don't Clown Around

The costumes were fun
Makeup and hair
But now that we're done
I just sit in my chair
Without any fuss
Or a longing sigh
Nothing more to discuss
Or wonder why
Don't Clown Around

But it was a journey
I thought for forever
But we build our walls
Thinking we were so clever
Then the laughter stopped
Oh, why did the laughter stop?

Behind this curtain
Until I'm ready
For this I'm certain
And my hand's again steady
Then I'll raise my head high
And let myself smile
Look the world in the eye
Run down the aisle
Don't Clown Around

This totally has potential. In fact it's pretty sweet as it is, touching and memorable. I really like that line about the old photograph faded into the sky

Yes, keep working on this one. I do hear the "Send in the Clowns" influence, but this iecirs own piece. I particularly like the last verse relating the struggle to move forward.

Ah, this makes me feel both sad and nostalgic at the same time. So wonderfully written and performed!

Yup I agree Jeff worth playing with! It's a tricky song, nowhere to hide! But may well be worthwhile.

Beautifully bittersweet - the living and fun memories in contrast to today’s sadness. The writing is strong and the musical delivery of the lyrics is absolutely gorgeous. Tugs at the heart for sure!

This is a beautiful song, definitely worth a revisit when you have the time. There is a lot of emotion and I think you hit the mark with the with the feel of the "Send in the Clowns". This is a very moving song and you've created a lot of great imagery, really nice work!
