Nadia's piano takes me to another world; always pleased to sing about what I find there. Hope I've done it justice.

Lyrics:

Stay
The hand that bids away
The ones who turn and toil
Those broken loyal few

I raise
The chalice to the light
No one to catch it’s sight
Tonight I drink to you

Never had a vision I could not make true
Never had a mission come to nothing
Never have been shrouded in these shades of blue
At present such a vision is a-calling

Friends
Here at my bitter end
Drink not to mask the tears
But catch them in your cup

Praise
For all your loyal days
My sorrow humbly lays
Before your mercy’s eyes

Never had a vision I could not make true
Never had a mission come to nothing
Never have been shrouded in these shades of blue
The vision here upon me is appalling

Pray forgiveness
Mercy, Mercy
Pray to lift my people…

Never had a vision I could not make true
Now it seems my mission’s come to nothing
As I am so shrouded in these shades of blue
Pray I am a vision soon forgotten

You two make beautiful music together. The lyrics are poignant and powerful. The piano playing is emotive and expresses just the right amount of sorrow. I am reminded of Peter Gabriel with this one. Well done!

This is such a great musical theater piece, filled with a character filled vocal in soliloquy (and a "chorus" adding harmony/punctuation). Really great stuff, both of you. Really enjoyed my listen. I can see it on stage as is.... !

This is awesome. The music is full of expression and intrigue. There's rolling hope in those notes. The lyrics bring all that out. This made me think of "Les Miserables" and the song "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" especially for some reason. A powerful vocal delivery. I can see this on stage as part of a bigger story. Full of emotion and I like how it intensifies near the end. Wonderful collab!
