Words by David L Graham, Music by Phil Bearce

David sent me these words yesterday and I didn't see the e-mail right away. When I did, my mind started trying to figure it out. I heard jazz in the words immediately. But, I parked in my sub-brain until this morning. This is what came out - not quite jazz, not quite lounge. Using my new Ibanez AM53-TF jazz guitar and my uBass. The static drum track from an app I have - it's not that dynamic, so I'll work on redoing that track. This is a favorite of mine so far!

Lyrics:

I traded my heart in for a ticket to fly
I gathered up my dreams and told my world goodbye
I didn’t know the why didn’t know the how
But I knew the when and it was right now, right now, right now

Some cities own some dreams, and a dreamer must go
I wandered for a while here, thinking I would know
I didn’t know the why didn’t know the how
But I knew the when and it was right now, right now, right now

Bridge:
They talk about fast lanes and pathways made of gold
They make and sell how to books about the easy road
And they say the only way to do it is to sell your soul
But I know I got to go I got to go. And right now, it’s the time to go
I didn’t know the why I didn’t know the how

But I knew the when and it was right now, right now, right now

Thanks, Phil. A nice easy groove...sweet song. Nice. I must also say that Phil did a little restructuring, which is great. I usually think a collaboration is just that, a collaboration. On we go. David
