Liner Notes:

Cindy Paine wrote the lyrics. They inspired me to create a bossa nova to fit them. I changed her original lyric only a little.

Oh, and thanks to the YouTube channel that provided the backing bossa nova rhythm track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a7JlCJUXl4

Lyrics:

Sultry night, crowded bar
and she's dancing in the street
wet clothes cling to glistening skin
as the two lovers meet

Stormy night, lightning flash
the spark ignites again
bodies close, then they clash
their passion brings the rain

It's always the same back and forth
in ecstasy she calls out his name
never can stop, they are bound
perhaps they'll drown in all the rain drops

Stars appear, cooling breeze
Calm comes as tension goes
Have to touch, tightest squeeze
Why? nobody knows.

It's always the same back and forth
in ecstasy she calls out his name
never can stop, they are bound
perhaps they'll drown in all the rain drops

Have to touch, tightest squeeze
Why? only love knows.

Wow, Russ, that background picture!! Steamy stuff. Really pleasing melody, and I love the way you echo it on the organ. 'Perhaps they'll drown in all the rain drops' is a cracking line too. Well done both Smile

Thanks for giving it a listen, and that line of Cindy's is what drew me to the piece as well. Great lyric, sort of dictated the picture.

lots of bossa nova here this year, cindys lyrics have bossa nova written all over them. russ picked up on that and ran with it. collab is a perfect marriage of the minds.

Thanks for listening. It was fun working with her lyric, it sort of dictated the tune to me.

I was going to do a latin-flavored song today and it went in a different direction. This is a terrific bossa nova song. Love it!
