Liner Notes:

Georgie sent me a lyric, I set it to music (with a couple minor tweaks).

Georgie here: I heard this title in an episode of Bosch and just HAD to songify it. I love what Alex did with it, especially the chorus!

Lyrics:

No Turn Unstoned
2021 Cooper/Klages

V.
You help a friend but they don’t pay it back
Not in deeds and not in kind
When it’s you that really needs the helping hand
You brush it off like you really don’t mind

You lend something that belongs to you
You say ok each time they ask
When you’re finished please return it soon
But somehow you never got it back

PC
You choose to smile and let it go
Suspect what you’ve always known

C
No turn unstoned
Find reward in knowing you did good
No turn unstoned
Would you do it all again if you could

V
You do someone a solid to be kind
But they don’t step up when it’s your turn
You shrug and think oh well that’s alright
Maybe by next time they’ll learn

PC
You choose to smile and let it go
Suspect what you’ve always known

C
No turn unstoned
Find reward in knowing you did good
No turn unstoned
Would you do it all again if you could

B.
By example is how we lead
Behave the way you want people to be
It’s a basic courtesy
To say thank you in the very least

C
No turn unstoned
Find reward in knowing you did good
No turn unstoned
Would you do it all again if you could
Would you do it all again if you could

Love the twist in the title. So true of how many are, but in the end it was never about them, anyway. Love the message, good song.

Gah, so many times.
Great energy here for sure.
Really catchy chorus.
I dunno, for some reason this reminds me a bit of early Jethro Tull, especially that chorus.
Excellent work!
And no, I no longer have any urge to "do it again"; I've been ripped off one too many times. Sad

Goodness, but Jibbidy is prolific this season. Great job on the lyrics.

Nice driving guitar and vocal--a very good collaboration, you guys!

That accoustic guitar never did nuffin, but you beating on it so bad! Great powerful stuff
A strong lyric from Georgie, indeed appreciation and mutual respect/reciprocation can be hard to find.
Enjoyed. Great collab.

Great title. George is smashing them out. Alex back in your sort of oasis feel. You nailed this one with the guitar drive and changes.

Ace acoustic rock strumming and vox there Alex and a vehement lesson in courtesy/tolerance/reciprocity in Georgie's fine lyric...par excellence!

Another fantastic collab. Love the wordplay title and overall theme of the lyrics. Alex, your music was a great vehicle to deliver the whole package. Dark, but the brighter turn at the chorus kept it from being too heavy and morose.

Wow, I love the lyrics and the vocal delivery of em.
Great style here.
That frantic guitar goes SO friggin well with this whole thing and provides a great emotion to the lyrics. The almost dead-pan vocal delivery and that style of guitar appeals to me in a way I can't really describe.
Just simply sounds good.
Love these lyrics...

This is so cool! I had heard the title, too - as a reference to getting high! So I was really curious what the lyric meant, and the words here are amazing. The music matches their message and intensity. In fact, the powerful vocal/guitar combo make this quite an anthemic message song. Great collab!

In word and in deed. Words to live through, and good deeds to be punished. Music that carries. Well done!
