These are the Times

These are the Times

Liner Notes:

This just spontaneously erupted within 10 min. Sorry about the doom and gloom. Not sure what kind of music it wants. Maybe I'll get to it later. But if anyone feels moved to give it a go, more power to you.

Lyrics:

Smoke on the horizon
excitement in the air
What comes next
why should i care

everything’s changing
the world’s getting hot
people are fleeing
with whatever they’ve got

these are the times they told us would come
but we didn’t listen
these are the times they told us would come
but we’re too busy
these are the times they told us would come
but we just kept playing
and now that they’re here we’re just numb

Satellites are falling
down from space
glaciers are melting
at an accelerating pace

cattle are starving
grass lands are dry
people go hungry
children’s mamas cry

These are the times they told us would come
we’re too busy arguing
These are the times they told us would come
but who’s going to pay
These are the times they told us would come
it’s not my job
but now that they’re here we’ve become numb

There's a lot more than excitement in the air these days. Panic, despair, frustration, despondency, anger, and fatalism every time I watch the TV news at the moment. "Who's going to pay?" indeed. You can bet it won't be those responsible, that's for sure. They'll have buggered off to Mars... Bah! Get off my lawn!

Hmmm. Looks like this *really* resonated with me...

Ha! thanks for the comment. I'm glad it resonated. That could be a song title - "They've buggered off to Mars". Smile

haha, they've all buggered off to Mars would be a good title! I'd say you hit the nail on the head with this one. This will be a fascinating time to study in history in the future if there is anyone around left to do so Biggrin
