Demo:

Liner Notes:

The music was straightforward for this. An instrumental provisionally titled Liquidity.

The idea was to pick a scale then use all 7 chords with 6th chords for verse, minor 7ths for chorus and diminished flattened whatever for the break. Worked chords out on Chordbot easy enough. Transferred midi files to reason.
The synths and string sounds mingled well, got a nice piano effect, everything ok.

Had an idea for some words. I've been ok with lyrics recently, not great quality, but always fluid enough to fill out the songs I've done so far. I only needed about 10 lines for this song, but after the first 2 lines I hit the block. Got there in the end.

Had to sing quietly at about 0400, but it may have benefitted the song.

I'm quite pleased with the synth wash in this song, I was tempted to soak the whole thing, but I think its better coming in later to fill.

ONWARD AND UPWARDS

Lyrics:

And You Still Love Me
Music & Lyrics Mark Scullion ©2021

I can't count the ways, I've hurt you.
I can't count the times, I've let you down.

When I'm at my lowest point, you save me from myself.
When I'm in above my head, you turn my life around.

And you still love me?

I can't count the ways, you've saved me.
I can't count the times, you've turned me round.

When I'm at my lowest point, you save me from myself.
When I'm in above my head, you turn my life around.

And you still love me?

nice song, I think the lyrics go well with the music and I kind of got an 80's vibe from it but it could do with a lift about 3/4 of the way through. Maybe as an idea you could make the lyrics more uplifting as the song progresses and increase the tempo.

Yup another good one. A very complex song this time with a fairly short lyric! Nice !

very pretty in a sadly loving way. the lyrics express the music quite profoundly.

I have to agree that those synths do mingle nicely. Again, I find myself fascinated with your vocals and your lyrics tend to be quite insightful. It sounds beautiful in my AKGs.

I really like the feel, a gentle wash of synths and an understated vocal, thanks for the music.
