Time to get this party started with some bluegrass opossum music!

And I always like to tell stories with my music so this one is based on a true story. A love story.

Man oh man, I sure do love beaver!

Lyrics:

I Fell In Love With A Beaver (July 5, 2021)

I fell in love
with a beaver
she was so hairy
and baby she loved wood
I groomed her
and I kissed her
when she left me
how I missed her
oh God I loved that beaver
so damn good

I used to eat them bullfrogs
in the deep dark swamp
they tasted so damn good
I thought they're all I'd ever want
but I've discovered something new
a thing I can't resist
this beaver is the best thing
I have kissed

cause I fell in love
with a beaver
she was so bushy
and baby she loved wood
I stroked her
and I kissed her
when she left me
how I missed her
oh God I loved that beaver
so damn good

we never talked religion
or events big or small
now that I think about it
we never talked at all
but opossums lovin' beaver
I can't see how that is wrong
I wanna hug her every day
and all nightlong

I fell in love
with a beaver
she was so shaggy
and baby she loved wood
I rubbed her
and I kissed her
when she left me
how I missed her
oh God I loved that beaver
so damn good

but that hairy little beaver went away
no matter what I said she wouldn't stay
I tried to explain how I felt
about that beaver pelt
but she shaved
and left for Hollywood today

I fell in love
with a beaver
she was so furry
and baby she loved wood
I licked her
and I kissed her
when she left me
how I missed her
oh God I loved that beaver
so damn good

Quite a hoot! Tuneful and bouncy and just tons of fun! And best of all, it's a great sing along the whole family from toddler to great-grandparents can sing along with! Biggrin

Up to your usual standard RDO. Will play it to your antipodian cousins.

Oh yeah, sure, Ray...just a clever love story of an opossum and his love for a beaver. You clever little rascal, you! Y'all eat bullfrogs? Really? I mean, for all the YouTube vids I've seen, bullfrogs are like apex predators!. Good pluckin' and a singin' by the way. Wink

Oh my!!!!! I needed this laugh, thanks!

Why NSFW? Biggrin ??? Nothing wrong about loving a bushy/shaggy/furry beaver that loves wood...........Great stuff!

Dude, this track is killer! The autotuned vocals was unexpected - definitely adds to humorous effect. Clever lyrics! That chorus is awesome all around - instantly memorable Smile

lol I'm crying! Cartoonish vocal and music delivery were so fitting for this lyric. Causing me to have a "stuck song syndrome" lol

So tell me; is that you playing all these instruments, or do you have some kind of woodland band goin on there??
Like, a chipmunk on fiddle and such?
A bunch of years ago I wrote a 50/90 song called "Beating The Beaver", and like your song, it was totally about a real beaver.
Keep these tiny masterpieces coming!

I'm imagining one of those Disney World costumed bluegrass bands busting this one out after all the families have gone home for the day. A delightfully depraved tune!

Love between a possum and a beaver is thankfully not much of an issue these days, 'cause hey, we live in the 21st century! Shame that she shaved, I like them hairy too, the beavers. Together with the trad style banjo picking, that - erm - peculiar vocal quality of a possum makes for an irresistably unholy combination.

I'll have an entendre please, landlord. No, make it a double.

This is as subtle as a Vengaboys music video and every bit as enjoyable.

An enjoyable enlightening tune wooden you say!
Great backing track with some really fine banjo and violin work..a beaver would "dam "good!
My sides are still in pain from laughing

This is really something wonderful. Beavers everywhere are blushing, hearing this.

That's hilarious! I love the old timey bluegrass music. Goes perfect with the lyrics. And we get a good fiddle solo!

Oh, my....! Well this is very funny....nothing like some bluegrass opossum music! Music is very entertaining!....and the vocal suits it all so well! Cool solo!

How have I missed this? I'm now a huge Opossum fan (beavers, that's another story).
