Liner Notes:

I swear, it's not a band name. Just a theme that seems to have been predominant during 50-90 this year (in a few different places)

Yet another in the recently named "Lyrics Written At Work Series". Should be the last one for the day… Again the plan is to try to music these lyrics tomorrow during my day off.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 30, 2020
==========================

Recorded a demo for this song this afternoon. Just my strat & voice, nothing special.

See You In The Shadows…

Lyrics:

Ego & The Milestones
=================

V1

Blank stares deviate
In pastoral urban climes
Fifty & nine retaliate
Conduct seeming sublime

C

Milestones passed & counted
Ego supreme flouted
Now is the time for calm

V2

Dark stars falling
In lava flow mines
A spark returning
Deep within the mind

C

Milestones passed & counted
Ego supreme flouted
Now is the time for calm

B

Somewhere in the night
The lair of Truth hides
Reaching out with the light
To unlock the endless sky

C

Milestones passed & counted
Ego supreme flouted
Now is the time for calm

C

Milestones passed & counted
Ego supreme flouted
Now is the time for calm

Can something be urban and pastoral at the same time? Just wondering... Some interesting images in this. I get the sense the music's going to be dark and doom-laden. As is only right.

And seriously, "Ego and The Milestones" is a cracking name for a band...

That tag cracked me up, was my first thought as well........that's a great band name hahaha

That's a great chorus and the lyric all around! I really like where you went musically with this too, just a really nice almost happy swaying almost melancholic rhythm and an excellent tone! Great mix on this too! excellent stuff!

Nice writing and song to this, you sing well and the chorus is memorable.
