Ice Cream Truck
Post date:

Demo:
Liner Notes:
Here's a weird one. There's been an ice cream truck driving around our neighborhood in the evenings this week playing a variety of songs, including some Christmas tunes? It's a little surreal. So when my husband and I hosted a little write-along tonight, that was the prompt they brought, and this is what I came up with. I also did the assignment for my songwriting class this week with this, which was to write a song in either A harmonic minor or E harmonic minor.
Lyrics:
The days are getting shorter
And the air is growing crisp
Summertime is fading
It’s impossible to miss
But the ice cream truck still crawls along
Chiming out-of-season songs
Asking “Are you sleeping, Brother John?”
The time has come for sweaters
And for hot cider and tea
For apples and for pumpkins
As we head toward Halloween
But the ice cream truck still crawls along
Chiming out-of-season songs
Like Jingle Bells, and Silent Night, O Tannenbaum
Like Jingle Bells, and Silent Night, O Tannenbaum
