Liner Notes:

When all else fails, I write limericks. Our political situation gets me depressed, so these are little rants and major complaints that I have. They can be very negative unfortunately.

Lyrics:

Three Limericks, July 11, 2020, #5, Elizabeth Singleton

A E7 A
How much more can this country take?
A E7 A
Trump, the king, has proven to be a criminal snake.
A E7
He has gotten three years worse,
A E7
He deserves to be in a hearse,
A E7 A
When will his heartless heart break?

A E7 A
Will Melania divorce Trump in December?
A E7 A
There’s no passion, no spark, not an ember.
A E7
Her marriage is done.
A E7
She’ll take her son,
A E7 A
And change her name, so she won’t remember.

A E7 A
Imagine being the fourth child of Trump.
A E7 A
When summoned, you’d have to jump.
A E7
In luxury, you’d live,
A E7
And be taught, never to give.
A E7 A
Un-fathered and ashamed, your life would slump.

I love me some limericks! I once wrote a song where every verse was in limerick form and had a dirty punchline, but I interrupted the punchline with the chorus every time. Political limericks are very cool, and tricky. I'm so impressed!
