Yes...very bright lyrics about moonshine (hic!) courtesy of Cindyrella!

Lyrics:

In the backwoods of Kentucky
There's some fine shine bein' made
Over the tops of mountains
Then across the glades
It'll burn your belly
Cause honey it ain't weak
That shine has the power to
Make a dumb man speak

Don't bring anyone with you
Lest it's a trackin' dog
He sure knows the way
And he won't get you lost
Don't tell anyone you're goin'
Yeah that'd be just wrong
It's gotta be a secret
Lest the revenuers catch on

They say it is medicinal
Sure to cure what ails ya
It'll work for sure
Whenever all else fails ya
That moonshine
Will sure enough make you well

Once you get a taste of it
You will sure be hooked
You are gonna wonder
How that shine is cooked
But they ain't likely to tell ya
That recipe has been handed down
So go fill up a jar or two
It's the best stuff around

They say it is medicinal
Sure to cure what ails ya
It'll work for sure
Whenever all else fails ya
That moonshine
Will sure enough make you well

They say it is medicinal
Sure to cure what ails ya
It'll work for sure
Whenever all else fails ya
That moonshine
Will sure enough make you well

That moonshine
Will sure enough make you well

You really nailed this one! I think it is the best song around! Love the perfect feel. Thank you!

I like the slightly gothic country/Americana feel of this tune. You're saying the moonshine is "medicinal," but there's a dangerous undercurrent (whether from the alcohol or just getting caught). Nicely done!

Thank you very much...I hope I did Cindy's fine lyrics justice...

there is an anti moonshine tone in your delivery, which gives an irony to the lyroc that i did not catch when i originally read it. maybe the siger has learned his lesson too late and is now payung the price for what he was told and believed to be medicine. its a lonely, gothic delivery full of regret...a little but in the hony cash vein...while the lyric itself perpetuates the myth of the moonshine. incidentally, during the 35 years that i was a devout teetoller, i id make a rare exception on the occasions in north carolina when moonshine was offered. i thought it was wonderfulm irresistable stuff..the best whiskey i ever tasted.

Cindy and I had previously done a song about a moonshine still which was more upbeat so I thought I'd make this one a little darker...

You're such a vocal chameleon! And you have a great feel for lyric writers' words. Cindy wrote a fun lyric and you turned it into a great song. Congrats to both of you!

Great, great, great, great lyrics on this one Cindy! Love it!

And of course I hate how good Gwyn is on this one more than usual, because I have a little laryngitis today--and he is in as fine a form as ever. You've got the perfect singer for this WONDERFUL song you've written!

Do more! Do more!

That 1sr verse is so great!!! And the music and vocals are incredible. That drop to the deep on well is fantastic! Brilliant collaboration!
