Liner Notes:

Wacha says - Liz reached out to me with some lyrics and we passed them back and forth only adding, no changing or removing until we felt the lyrics were done. Ok, so we MAY have tweaked one bit were I didn't realize I have thrown out the very clear song structure that was up.

I find I struggle with one collaboration more than any other each 50/90 or FAWM and for some reason they tend to the ones I work on with Liz. I had a very hard time getting the timing down on this one which is pretty obvious on the vocals on the chorus. I actually recorded the guitar and when I went to record the vocals I couldn't get them to work so I re-recorded the guitar once just as a rhythm part with the vocals as a take then played my guitar to that to keep my place in the song and then redid the vocals but they are still a bit off.

I wanted to to do a fuller arrangement but I am not going to have time before I need to take a break from 50/90 for some health issues.

Anyway, that's enough of me apologizing for this demo.

Lyrics:

TITLE: HEART ON THE RUN
V1
it was in the moment
it was only a word
My heart spoke to you
Hoping you had heard
it was how you said it
it was with your smile
I was under your spell
And truly beguiled
PC
And now my heart runs wild ....
C
how do I calm
a heart on the run
It's like trying to grow
Without the warm sun
how do I hold
a heart that’s not tame
It’s like a white hot fire
A dangerous flame
A heart on the run ...
fueled by desire
V2:
it was a certain look
It was a quick glance
All I needed to know
We had a chance
it was a strange feeling
I could not ignore
Something I’ve never
Quite felt before
PC
And now my heart wants more....
C:
how do I calm
a heart on the run
It's like trying to grow
Without the sun
how do I hold
a heart that’s not tame
It’s like a white hot fire
A dangerous flame
A heart on the run ...
fueled by desire
B:
thundering like wild mustangs
Running wild and free
howling like coyotes
hungry as they can be
Prideful as a lion
growling inside me....
PC
and now my heart runs endlessly
C:
how do I calm
a heart on the run
It's like trying to grow
Without the sun
how do I hold
a heart that’s not tame
It’s like a white hot fire
A dangerous flame
A heart on the run ...
fueled by desire

Really nice your vocals are great, they remind me a little of Stevie Nicks. Lovely lyrics. An excellent collaboration.

No need to apologise for this demo...it conveys the emotion and sensuality of the lyric so well...fabulous co-write!

Well input may have been hard but output is touchingly beautiful. Great collab.

Really good song, sounds a bit Indigo Girls-ish which I like. A really good take on the lyric. Take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon!

I like the image and idea of "heart on the run". Lots there just in that phrase alone. The lyric conveys images very fluidly and I think the attention to the little silent things/moments is very intuitive and lets the emotions play! Good singing in this...I like the phrasing of the lines, how attention is given to one word at the end of a line. Makes it personal. Good stuff. Well played.

I like the vocal and I REALLY like the tone you're getting on the guitar. Great song--nice collaboration, both of you!

That is a super tricky timing, with that vocal melody especially if keeping up that rhythm, I wouldn't necessarily change it though, it sounds amazing!......I think you pulled it off quite nicely! this is one you could play for years and probably still stumble over from time to time, so for a new one, even more kudos! hahah not that I ever bother to here, but if ever trying to just record a vocal track solo I have to either pretend play guitar or air drums or something hahah. Even if its a pretty standard and straight on rhythm/timing, I'll get lost.............sorry just relate I think too much to the struggle of what you described in liner notes haha

Great collab! great recording! no need for apologies, thanks for sharing!

Nice, warm guitar tone and lovely vocals. Lyrics full of great images - I particularly liked the bridge and the procession of wild animals that symbolize desire. Beautiful mood on this one!
