old song revisited. I think this was one of my first 5090's songs I wrote and one of the first with Liz.
Tony Drake is playing the piano this time
Liz says: this is beautiful, Marthie! The music is is gorgeous and you have changed it significantly since the first rendition years ago as that version was not a piano ballad - I really love your vocals and melody - your phrasing and tenderness are beautiful! Thanks for coming back to it - what a lovely surprise. And thanks to Tony! Although I also think your own piano playing is awesome.
Lyrics:
1. Harbor for your heart
Lyrics Kahlo
V1
the lighthouse lamp glimmers
reflecting on gentle waves
as the sun disappears
from the sky
the crescent moon rises
celebrating the ending day
as the water sings a soft
lullaby
C
let me be the soothing
music for your sweet dreams
let me be the tender
embrace for calming peace
let me be the joyful
wishes for tomorrow's start
and let me be the loving
harbor for your heart
V2
the night air grows cooler
quieting the summer's heat
as stars shine up high
all night long
the water becomes almost still
welcoming the serenity
as the birds sing their
good night song
C
let me be the soothing
music for your sweet dreams
let me be the tender
embrace for calm and peace
let me be the joyful
wishes for tomorrow's start
let me be the loving
harbor for your heart
BRIDGE
come to me let me hold you
as I pray God keeps you safe
know I will stay right beside you
until the dawn of the new day
C
let me be the soothing
music for your sweet dreams
let me be the tender
embrace for calm and peace
let me be the joyful
wishes for tomorrow's start
let me be the loving
harbor for your heart
OUTRO
oh let me be the loving...
loving harbor of your heart

You're back! This is beyond wonderful! Liz's lyrics are incredible and I love how you brought them to life. Lovely!
I'm figuring out what I particularly like about your songs, Marthie--it's the piano accompaniment. I've got to come up with something along these lines.
You have a "guest piano player" on this one? He's really good. Great, great song, Liz. I'll give you most of the praise for this one because I've been spoiling Marthie for the last couple of months. Gorgeous!!
This is so beautiful.
I'm just going to sit here and let this wash over me. x
