Liner Notes:

I participated in a Body Love Creative Writing workshop today that two songwriting friends put on. It was lovely! This is the song I got out of it.

Lyrics:

My body takes the time it needs
When I am walking down the street
It won’t be hurried past the trees
My body takes the time it needs
Oooh...Oooh
Oooh...Oooh

My body takes the time it needs
Reminding me to bend my knees
Allow my legs to carry me
My body takes the time it needs
Oooh...Oooh
Oooh...Oooh

I’ve been ashamed of my slow pace
My steady, plodding gait
But I am learning to have grace
My life is not a race

My body takes the time it needs
To laugh, to cry, to heal, to grieve
To feel the sun, the rain, the breeze
My body takes the time it needs
Oooh...Oooh
Oooh...Oooh

My body takes the time it needs...

lovely guitar playing, a wholesome message. i am at a stage where im wanting to recharge my batteries and rest, and i do feel in all of us that when were not quite ready, its our body telling us its not time to do what we want/need to do. but it does get done, and thats when the body has taken the time it needs... thanks for a lovely song! if there were workshops around here that provided this sort of thing i would love to go, its something id love to try. all the best from the dark depths of manchester, uk!

I love the gentleness the song is carrying. Lovely lyrics! The message is great, couldn't agree more!
