Liner Notes:

This was for @andygetch's skirmish on facebook, the prompt was "closure" which I took as closed and thought of "Tourist Trap" and the roadside stand being closed along with his wife being dead and him being unable to let her go.

On this song:
Vocals
Tanglewood Acoustic Guitar

I was having a problem with the rhythm and the tempo to I didn't record to a click so I didn't add anything to this one.

Lyrics:

Verse: C am dm G
Chorus: am G

Verse
The roadside stand's been closed for years
There's a padlock on the door
They built a bypass
No one drives through anymore

Chorus
But it once
Was so pretty
It once
Was full of life
But times
Are a changing
And things
Don't seem so bright

Verse
Molly passed years ago
And left him all alone
The loss was too much to bear
Left him broken in despair

Chorus
But she once
Was so pretty
She once
Was full of life
But times
Are a changing
And she
Doesn't seem so bright

Verse
He kept her close to his heart
So they'll never be apart
Loneliness he's always feared
So he kept his Molly near

Chorus
But she once
Was so pretty
She once
Was full of life
But times
Are a changing
And she
Doesn't shine so bright

This is a great take. Change is constant, but closure isn't always possible or even desired. Whether there's anything wrong with that is more than I know

A beautiful song from these fabulous lyrics! The guitar alone is exceptional, but all together is magic!

This sounds great and I would have never thought it was inspired by a horror movie as the melancholy sense of loss of things and people once beautiful feels so universal and poignant. This has a gorgeous heartfelt feel. The guitar is perfect and your vocals are gorgeous.
