Liner Notes:

Well, I am still back at week one and I haven't been able to get around and listen too much and I am pretty convinced that I did not do this as was intended, but it got out a pretty raw, self reflection song out of me....if anything, it might be the title track of a cd for me, so if you didn't know me before or wanted to know something about me....here it is.........in the style of me and late....just like me....LOL!!

Lyrics:

This Girl
by Tammy jann

I'm living one of many lifetimes
drifting though space, time and dreams
creative art and music maker
a gypsy of mystery

trying to make sense of this place
looking for friends of like minds
taking photos of all of my thoughts
then writing them out in rhymes

chorus
all that I am
all that i've seen
are on this journey of me
I carry stars
plant them deep
and long for the salty sea
don't understand
or be confused
just accept me and my world
no aplogies
for who I am
I only know how to be this girl

Slave to the emotions of my heart
pulling up from the depths of my soul
believe in the fantasy of true love
and more childlike as I get old

absorbing the heartache around me
suffer the wounds that I was dealt
I know joy and hurt are timeless
in my story that I tell

chorus
all that I am
all that i've seen
are on this journey of me
I carry stars
plant them deep
and long for the salty sea
don't understand
or be confused
just accept me and my world
no aplogies
for who I am
I only know how to be this girl

Outro
no apologies, this is who I am
I can only be this girl

Great introduction! I love your guitar on this...and how your voice floats in a way that reminds me of a mix between the Carpenters and Barbara Streisand.

There's no way to do week 1 wrong. This is a beautifully haunting melody and a wonderful self-meditation. Just splendid in every way, dear friend.

Just beautiful, Tams. Smile An entirely relatable lyric. I especially love these lines:

believe in the fantasy of true love
and more childlike as I get old

This is absolutely beautiful and such a brilliant way to share yourself. The words are so lovely and your melody and vocals are absolutely gorgeous. The chorus is great. I love the line of become more childlike as you get old - so true. Brilliant song!

beautiful. love the straight down the line genuineness and gentleness. and i spotted your traits and activities so clearly and yet it was beautifully poetic at the same time, i liked the lines taking photos of all of my thoughts
then writing them out in rhymes

very nice indeed and i swear you are more comfortable in your voice and style with every song you post. really lovely week1 prompt response

What a great voice there! Thanks, immensely enjoyed, the song waves its way as a river flowing into a serious sea of wild emotions with a wink.

You have a nice traditional folk sounding voice. And the song feels like a well-written self-description! Looking forward to hearing more Smile

The portrait and the request are beautiful together! I feel the real you coming through clearly, in poetry and music. Your photography is worked in with such a creative couplet. Lovely listen, reverberating still.
