Demo:

Liner Notes:

I set myself a personal challenge to produce and perform a song to my own lyrics. Here it is. I have never done this before. I used Audacity, and applied EQ, normalise and that's it. I'm sure I could have enhanced the performance and masked my voice with greater use of the facilities. (Stop sniggering at the back)
Lyrics - Me
Vocals - Me
Rhythm guitar - Me and Martin LXK2
Lead guitar - Me and Fender Stratocaster
F/X - Me and Yamaha keyboard

Lyrics:

Zanzibar

V1
On a moonlit beach in Zanzibar
Strumming my old guitar
Our eyes met across a driftwood fire
A smoldering desire

V2
Beside the fire’s dying embers
Both of us surrendered
Maybe too soon and maybe too far
Let's blame it on Zanzibar

Chorus:
African rhythms, eastern spices
Hot sultry nights, a million stars
Exotic dishes, papaya slices
That’s the magic of, Zanzibar

V3
I wonder now if she remembers
That night beside the embers
Of a driftwood fire under the stars
One night in Zanzibar

Chorus:
African rhythms, eastern spices
Hot sultry nights with a million stars
Exotic dishes, papaya slices
That’s the magic of, Zanzibar

love this. the production sounds so much like my first four track cassette recordings. havent heard such sounds in a long time. your voice sounds good without any masking effects.

Really good! Words, sound effects, vocals and all. I like the name Zanzibar.

Really curious one you have produced here, i love what you have done with it. The song in the middle of it all is easy to follow but your fills are quite personal and unique, so it gave it a really unique character, i mean that birds and percussion sound is unusual, but really adds feel.
Anyway, good one.
