My Piece Of Heaven

My Piece Of Heaven

Liner Notes:

"My Piece Of Heaven" was a lyric inspired by the town where @cindyrella lives in which is very quiet and has less than 250 people in it. This very fact alone was the impetus I needed to put music to the lyric.

Sounds like heaven to me too Smile

As I rise
Pink lilies
Are a surprise

Hot coffee
Awakens me
The sky is blue
But not me

Winding paths to follow
Goldfinches so yellow
Turtles sunning on logs
Green jumping frogs
Flowers growing wild
The laughter of a child
The natural world beckons
It's my piece of heaven

Strolling through my small town
It's a paradise that I've found

Holding hands
On our walks
Contented sighs
Quiet talks

Watching deer
Eating near
Hooting owls
That I hear

Repeat chorus

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

As I think Cindy is aware, I grew up in small towns also--wouldn't change that for the world. A great experience (which I wrote about earlier in 50/90 with "Town Of A Few Hundred").

Jeez, Corey, you really have a lovely arrangement to this. I think Cindy has a way of inspiring everybody to do right by her lyrics--I've yet to hear a bad rendition of one of her lyrics. Awesome vocals--lovely harmonies. Wish I knew your secrets to harmony--I'm really struggling with that...

love the way things pick up at the chorus after the relaxed peaceful glory of the verses. such fine harmonies and dynamics.

Corey does exactly what is needed to express the poetry and joy in the lyric perfectly...totally feelgood in a calm and gentle way...excellent co-write!

Its a duck song, on the surface all gentle and easy and under the water paddling to make it all seem easy! Very nicely done.

Good work Corey, reminds me of Seals and Croft for some reason.
