meandering around
park benches around the town
trying to find a space
where the police will just go away
once when i was young
everything looked like it could be so fun

but then there were no real love
not that it bothered me but, what the fuck
yes i may be a narcissist
or perchance my standards are too high
but i've seen plenty of gals
who just blew my mind

maybe that's part of the reason i find myself
in a sort of soup line
but maybe the soup nazi will be kind
and sell me a crab bisque with bread
without incident
