Liner Notes:

That person in your life you have unwittingly been appeasing and then realise it's all conditional. You pull the pin and suddenly they think there's something wrong with you - the old manipulation technique kicks in.

Lyrics:

Doin’ Alright:

Swinging to the rhythm of your long flowing hair
Floating in the wind with your well practiced romantic flair
I got so tired and tangled with your invisible wires
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright

Started with a gentle touch of your hand
Sun slid into evening sooner than I’d planned
The method of the madness was simplay implied
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright

A little after midnight in a slim cafe
I saw a couple kissing in that lazy kind of way
I rounded up your questions, how they’re designed
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright

Everytime I listen I hear that buzz
Muzzled the wantings of the deepest kind of love
I will not be troubled, defined or denied
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright
Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright

This starts with a seductively loving feel and sound and it takes a while for the realisation of those piano wire bindings cutting in. Very uneasy/edgy! And I don't believe, really, that the singer is doing alright--there's too much longing still! I like the double-edge.

I love the groove you have created with the rhythm, it grabbed me right from the start. The lyric have a nice laid back feel to them which is highlighted by your delivery. I like the repetition of "Don’t ask me how I’m doin’ baby I’m doin’ alright" a lot. It is very effective.
