Liner Notes:

24 of 28. This is both part of the theme of the 28 but also the first of a suite of vacation songs (I disappeared from 50/90 because I went on vacation, yay!)

No trickery here, just acoustic guitar strummed vigorously and voice.

Lyrics:

feeling the wind blow
across the prairies
driving all my fears away

feeling the hope grow
across the prairies
driving all my tears away

across the prairies
let me roam
across the prairies
then back home

watching the fields grow
across the prairies
it is here I will stay

watching the grass grow
across the prairies
it is here I will play

across the prairies
let me roam
across the prairies
then back home

That guitar really gives a sense of wind in your hair and the vocals scream world is your oyster. You nailed it. Movie soundtrack material. Good stuff.

Vacation, yay! That guitar really does sound great. It rings out so expansively, like the prairie itself. I really like the way that guitar motif rolls around while the vocal provides a sort of counter-rhythm. I'm a big fan of the circle of vacation: away...and then back home

I really like these lyrics. There's a power in simplicity, especially when it comes to folk songs, and the straightforward repetition works so well here.

Reminds me of Running Back To Saskatoon by The Guess Who or Wheat Kings by The Hip - different in a way, but it touches on that same prairie feeling. This captures that feeling perfectly.

Very nice, big feeling to this song. I love your delivery of the lyrics, it compliments the guitar rhythm quite nicely. I like the use of repetition with "across the prairies", this is a solid song.
