Waving My Sign

Liner Notes:

Last week, I passed a bunch of folks under a bridge holding signs for a local political candidate. That same spot is frequented by sign-holders of various needs and beliefs.

Lyrics:

Standing on a corner, early morning in July
gonna be a hot one, not a cloud in the sky
ain’t asking for a handout, maybe just a wave
each car passing by, is a soul to save

I’m waving my sign, trying to make folks understand
end of the world is coming to this land

Standing on a corner, like I been doing for days
Cops ask me to leave, I move down the road a ways
Some folks take my picture, others call me names
TV news reporter gives me five minutes of fame

I’m waving my sign, trying to make folks understand
end of the world is God’s plan

Used to have a good job in a factory
had me an apartment and a car
Now I got the good Lord watching over me
Don’t know why folks think that’s so bizarre

I’m waving my sign, trying to make folks understand
end of the world is coming to this land
end of the world is all at God’s command

I like that this is sort of a peek into the mind of one of the people holding the sign. I've always sometimes wondered what is going through their head. Enoyed the upbeat style.
