The Green Flash
Post date:
Liner Notes:
I've seen the green flash a couple of times when others around me haven't, and I've failed to see it when some around me have. So, is it just in the eye of the beholder?
Lyrics:
Green Flash (It is what it is)
Verse 1
When the sun melts into the ocean
Like butter in a frying pan
There’s a wonderful phenomenon
That’s rarely seen by man
Verse 2
It’s a wonder of this world of ours
Like an animal or a flower
A brilliant flash of green appears
A million candle-power
Pre chorus:
What can that green flash mean
That is so seldom seen?
Chorus:
Despite the speculation
It’s just a natural sensation
It doesn’t want an explanation
It just is what it is
Verse 3
The professors all like to tell us
The sun is shining through the sea
But I like to think it’s something grander
Something’s looking back at me
Pre chorus:
What can that green flash mean
That is so seldom seen?
Chorus:
Despite the speculation
It’s just a natural sensation
It doesn’t want an explanation
It just is what it is

nice lyric got great cadence. oh come on we love some speculation!
I've looked for it but never seen. Kinda like UFOs! Good one.
Cool! (esp. like the line "Like butter in a frying pan"). Nice structure with the pre-chorus. I have a band mate who also wrote a song called "Green Flash" (very different). It's a phenomenon I've never experienced.
