Pop punk jams! I started writing this a week ago but got nervous to finish it because it is mucho personal and also very active and strange structurally. But I sat down to do it today and I had so much fun that I knocked the entire recording out in one night. Song is about past experiences and regrets and reflection and jazz. Tagged "nsfw" for references to self harm and suicide.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
I think I was too mean
When I learned you were cheating
Cause I hated myself
For leading you on

Pre-Chorus:
And I spent the intervening time
Trying to be extra nice
Everybody ran out of time for me
And I'm very clingy

Chorus:
Sometimes, I miss summers in your basement
They make me wanna jump into the pavement
I'm locked in and no one's gonna save me
No one's gonna save me now

*solo*

Verse 2:
I think I hate myself
Maybe more than I hate you
Blame is hard to divide
I second guess if I'm right

Pre-Chorus:
And I'll spend the remainder of my life
Conflicted about broken ties
Everybody ran out of time for me
And I can't blame anybody

Chorus:
Sometimes, I miss winters in your basement
They make me wanna jump into the pavement
I'm locked in and no one's gonna save me
No one's gonna save me now

Sometimes I wanna slit my wrists and bleed out
Sometimes I wanna kill myself with self doubt
Self pity is the answer to my problems
I think it's gonna solve them; how?

*solo*

Chorus:
Sometimes, I miss summers in your basement
They make me wanna jump into the pavement
I'm locked in and no one's gonna save me
No one's gonna save me now

Sometimes, I miss winters in your basement
They make me wanna jump into the pavement
I'm locked in and no one's gonna save me
No one's gonna save me now

Sometimes I wanna slit my wrists and bleed out
Sometimes I wanna kill myself with self doubt
Self pity ain't the answer to my problems
It's never gonna solve them now

*solo*

Very rockin' track, my man. Yes - punk definitely rules! While it feels like a Green Day cut, the style of writing reminds me of Can't Stand Losing You. Sting is quite a gifted writer to this day, and you sir are just as gifted.

Keep the party moving!

vey cool track. that background is a bit placebo which i really like. nice

Cool jam! I like all the sections of this track, it keeps up a good energy. Your vocals have been really strong this year! This has a good melody and bopping beat along with very ear popping lyrics. Cool little solo at the end. Good job!

Also I have a collab track coming soon, in the next few days I'll prob send you something!

lively bit of self castigation rocks with the best of the post punkers.

This sounds really cool! A very catchy melody, especially on the chorus. The delivery of that quiet stanza at the beginning of the last chorus is a solid choice, it gives a nice sort of breather before jumping into the big energy of the full instrumentation at the end. Awesome work!
