My Mind is Like a Bowl of Alphabet Soup

Collaborators:

Liner Notes:

Sunfire wrote the lyrics, while I came up with the music.
I play my Yamaha PSR EW-400 and sing the lyrics. This was recorded on my Android phone. For some reason the pressing of the keys is very loud (probably because I had the keyboard at a low volume).

The song is mostly in 4/4, but there are a couple of 2/4 bars in the choruses (after the lines "With millions of thoughts trying to regroup" and "Spelling out what I feel that hasn't been said").

Lyrics:

My mind is like a bowl of alphabet soup

I gotta write, write
Write something new
Something I feel
That I know is true
Why is it so hard
To get to the heart
Expressing in words
Where do I start

My mind is like a bowl of alphabet soup
With millions of thoughts trying to regroup
To say what I want as they twirl in my head
Spelling out what I feel that hasn't been said

Plenty of ideas
Reading a book
Staring at clouds
Preparing to cook
The music I hear
Movies on screens
A sea of ideas
To get to the means

My mind is like a bowl of alphabet soup
With millions of thoughts trying to regroup
To say what I want as they twirl in my head
Spelling out what I feel that hasn't been said

Sometimes the bowl is hot
Sometimes its cold
But the mix is always there
And it never grows old

My mind is like a bowl of alphabet soup
With millions of thoughts trying to regroup
To say what I want as they twirl in my head
Spelling out what I feel that hasn't been said

I like the piano rhythm - it's catchy. The central image is great, too!

Very nice collaboration, the arrangement does a very nice job elevated the already great lyrics. There is a slightly manic feel to the song that really works.

Lyrics are fabulous ... I knew from the title that they would be great. Jaunty piano and crazed vocal make this musically very interesting!
