Liner Notes:

I love kundalini yoga... been doing it off and on for years... and I always feel better after I do it, but wish I was more consistent. Makes me wonder why I'm not more consistent when I love how it makes me feel? Hmm...

Anyway...one of the things in Kundalini yoga is "Breath of Fire", so when I saw the week 4 challenge of fire, that's what I was thinking about.

Lyrics:

"Feelin' the Fire"
©2020 W&W

The earth's got me shakin'
Underneath the dragon tree
My soul is vibratin'
The deeper the roots
The bigger the blues
The better the cherry

I'm feeling the fire
The snake swirling around me
Twisting and turning
The truth of my awakening

Yeah
I'm feelin' the fire

The wind's got me breathin'
Think I'll burst into flames
Inside I am burnin'
The deeper the glow
The bigger the smoke
The less I feel my brain

I'm feeling the fire
The snake swirling around me
Twisting and turning
The truth of my awakening

Yeah
I'm feelin' the fire

Inhale and exhale
Let it all out and do it again

Inhale and exhale
Let it all out and do it again

The water's coolin' me down
Back to realization
I smile for I am found
The deeper the sea
The bigger the deed
The better formation

I'm feeling the fire
The snake swirling around me
Twisting and turning
The truth of my awakening

Yeah
I'm feelin' the fire

Inhale and exhale
Let it all out and do it again

Inhale and exhale
Let it all out and do it again

I'm feeling the fire
The snake swirling around me
Twisting and turning
The truth of my awakening

Yeah
I'm feelin' the fire

Wow! Intense and liberating! Great images, interesting use of repetition, rhyme, and non-rhyme.
Although I don't teach or practice kundalini style yoga (I'm hatha), the energetic imprint of kundalini is mentioned throughout yoga texts I'm familiar with. Great job capturing your feeling in writing!

I practice on and off (wish I could be more consistent as well), so have done breath of fire! Lots of good imagery that I think captures the spirit of Kundalini. I like the last 3 lines of each verse - "The deeper..., the bigger..., etc. - really helps the form stand out.

great lyric! so many great lines and the whole thing flows really well and builds- love the way you have so many fire and then water lines that really deliver!

i'm not a yoga person (yogurt, maybe?) but this is powerfully done!

Tremendous description of Kundalini yoga. Lyric really well structured to get the intensity across. I can feel all of the movements. Powerful writing! Smile
