Demo:

Liner Notes:

When this is fully recorded I want it to have a killer drum line and electric guitar solo in it. Also disclaimer: I'm drunk as fuck.

Lyrics:

(You’re Rome, You’re Rome)

Like a moth drawn to a flame
Like a mouth drawn to a name
Like a sinner to shame
I can’t help it

Like a sailor to the sea
Like fate to what would be
Like trouble to me
I can’t help it

If I lose my way
I’ll count on every little number
Each scrap of romance that might get me home
A main road is the sane road
When you’re driving yourself under
It all leads back to you, baby, you’re Rome

(You’re Rome, You’re Rome)

Like trepidation to a skill
Like champagne to a thrill
Like patience to my will
I can’t help it

You’re like every damn cliché
A crescent winter’s day
I’ll do anything you say
I can’t help it, I can’t help it

If I lose my way
I’ll count on every little number
Each scrap of romance that might get me home
A main road is the sane road
When you’re driving yourself under
It all leads back to you, baby, you’re Rome

(You’re Rome, You’re Rome)

You are your own
You're like no-one that I’ve known
You are not alone

If I lose my way
I’ll count on every little number
Each scrap of romance that might get me home
A main road is the sane road
When you’re driving yourself under
It all leads back to you, baby, you’re Rome

A lot here. Rome. What is Rome? A vacation, a meeting, a memory? Code for something else? The scraps of paper. Following a trail of scraps. That may or may not lead anywhere, who knows?

The harmonies are great, the melody is really carrying me through this.

The super-quiet vocal seems to say something like "I'm recording this in a corner so no one can hear what I really think", at least that's the vibe I get from this.

Beautiful tune, really, and an interesting story that I find myself trying to follow.

Oh yes I can see this one fleshed out. I like the minor riff it's built aound, your voice. Nice job.

wow awesome guitar flicks as you emphasise each line. How do I do that?! :P Loved the "you're Rome, you're Rome" call outs, haunting.

Yup key, structure, riffs, vocal all pull this together really well.
