Liner Notes:

I started this song by randomly picking a drum loop in Logic and then writing the first thing that came to my head. Consequently, it's a hodgepodge of a bunch of elements from my formative years, i.e. the 90s. Off the top of my head I counted references to Soul Coughing, Weezer, Beck, and Cake, and probably some other stuff that's real buried in the subconscious.

For the last, well, all of quarantine I keep feeling like I'm missing something. I find myself wandering around, checking the mail, checking the internet, waiting for something. So I decided to take that feeling and make it a breakup/kiss-off song.

Lyrics:

I keep going round in circles
I keep going round in circles
Even though I'm glad you're gone
I feel like I've come undone
I keep going round in circles

(hold up!)
Thought I left it all behind
But you keep breaking into my mind
I went with the other guy (what a guy!)
So I can't figure out why

I keep going round in circles
I keep going round in circles
Even though I'm glad you're gone
I stay up from dusk til dawn
I keep going round in circles

(hold up!)
Round the room and through the door
I know I've done this all before
Feel like something's missing, can't be true (what to do?!)
Don't want what's missing to be you

I keep going round in circles
I keep going round in circles
Even though I'm glad you're gone
I feel like I've come undone
I keep going round in circles

I totally get that 90's alternative vibe. The repetition of the 'I keep going round in circles' works so well here, and the organ sound fits fantastically.

Really cool vocals here as well - I especially love the 'Hold Up!' and the little additional backing vocals. Properly polished tune.

That trumpet(?) coming in was an unexpected treat!

Wishing it were gone but yeah I am totally feeling the wandering, wobbly, and circular pattern that the melody and music weaves well with the lyric.

Great '90's feel. That synth certainly reminds me of Beck. Cool track Carley!

Yeah you named most of my favorite 90's acts and jumping into that feel is so so appreciated. It feels a bit like Midnight Vultures, which was my fav. The trumpet was all it was missing for a little Cake. Even so, it sounds like original work.

Easy to get into with the message. Carefree about emotional turmoil. That's a vibe. Love it.
