The Canary

Liner Notes:

This song started life as an off-handed comment to my wife at breakfast this morning. The canary is purely metaphorical, I assure you. As is the elephant.

mando, singing, whistling: me

Lyrics:

Aren't you glad
That the one-note canary
Will be dead this time next week?

Aren't you glad
That the thing on which I'm stuck
Will have the answer I seek?

I feel bad for the canary
He's singing his little heart out right now
I feel bad for the canary
But I'll be glad when he's gone anyhow

Aren't you glad
That the corner elephant
Will have left this time next week?

Aren't you glad
That the object I can't help but see
Will no longer be there to peek?

I feel bad for the elephant
But he's taking up a lot of room right now
I feel bad for the elephant
But I'll be glad when he's gone anyhow

This is a really cool song! I like the ringing mandolin a lot. And I think that these words have some significance for me, as far as the way I've been struggling with my anxiety lately. Even if that's not what you intended, thanks for helping me out!
And whistling - that's a nice bonus!
