Filament Laslappie-Marthie Nel Hauptfleisch-Woman On Fire

Liner Notes:

Well so far the longest song- it's about being torn and being broken. It takes better shape at the end but it will take time to finish. I am pleased with where it is at now. Some songs just start long and winded.
It does play with words a lot changing accents and thus changing the meaning in many ways. puns of sorts I guess...

English:
patchblanket: Filament and filigree

FILAMENT filigree: it is a golden thread that comes and goes(weaves), but always remains constant: gold and close by
Tear
broken broken-child
Hope
Yes yesterday is over
Someone else to hold you today, hold you
Someone else kissing you
In whose arms you may be
Come into the night
Before the frost begins
Is it just grace waiting at the door
Before the new day begins

Dudu Dudu Dudu Dudu- Here's someone to hold you
Dudu Dudu Dudu Dudu-Stop and calm down now
Dudu Dudu Dudu Dudu Calm down and be quiet now
Because all the pieces, piece-child
Become and form part of you now
And where you fit in, fit in
Do not worry
Find the place where you fit in
And can become more, become strong, grow
See for the first time
When everything is broken in your hands
That what is behind you is burned to ashes
When the future is uncertain, is always uncertain

May your paths be full of blessed surprises
May your people welcome you with open arms
and your soul feel cherished from the beginning man

burden,
quilt-country,
patchwork land of people,
patchwork people,
patchwork-people,
quilts,
torn and eroded through,
transparent,
see-through,
thinly sanded,
used, rented,
funded, held,
pushed,
repulsed,
spread,
despised,
rejected.

// Somewhere one has to find the beauty in broken
and make a fresh start
and unpack a mosaic
of pieces that do not fit nicely now
but suddenly now must belong together.

FILAMENT filigree:
it's a golden thread that comes and goes,
but always remain constant:
gold and close

Tear
piece, broken-child
child
Hope
Yes yesterday is over
Someone else to hold you today, hold you
Someone else kissing you
In whose arms you may be
Come in from the night
Before the frost begins
Is it just grace waiting at the door
Where the new day begins

FILAMENT filigree:
it's a golden thread that runs through

Lyrics:

Loslappie: Filament en filigraan

1. Skeur
Stuk stukKind
kind
Hoop
Ja gister is verby
Iemand anders om jou vandag
vas te hou
Iemand anders wat jou sus
In wie se arms jy dalk is

koor: Doedoe doedoe doedoe doedoe-
Doedoe doedoe doedoe doedoe
Raak rustig en raak stil nou

Want al die stukkies, stukkieskind
Word en vorm nou deel van jou
Moet jou nie bekommer nie
Die plek waar jy inpas
En kan grootword, sterk word, groei

Sien dan vir die eerste keer
Wanneer alles stukkend in jou hande lê

2.las,
laslappieland,
laslappieland van mense,
laslappie mense,
laslappies,
loslappies,
fraiings en skif,
deurskynend,
deursigtig,
dun geskuur,
gebruik, gehuur,
gefinansier, gehou,
gestoot,
verstoot,
versprei,
versmaai,
verwerp.
Iewers moet mens die beauty in stukkend vind
In die stukke vind
en 'n nuwe begin maak
'n mosaic uitpak

koor: Doedoe doedoe doedoe doedoe-
Doedoe doedoe doedoe doedoe
Raak rustig en raak stil nou

Doedoe doedoe doedoe doedoe-

Koda: FILAMENT filigraan:
dis ‘n goue draad

This is so beautiful and evocative. I truly love it, especially in the language sounds (I don't speak Afrikans - which I think it is ?).

What a beautiful evocative language this is. And your lyrics are always so pure, it is a treat to listen to. 'Raak rustig en raak stil nou' is a stunning line to me. Beautifully done, musically as well.
