Liner Notes:

GYAWS weekly prompt is "Help." Yes, it's another breakup song. Yes, I still love my wife dearly. No, I don't know why I keep writing all these friggin' breakup songs.
Acoustic one take.

Lyrics:

Won't you let me help you understand
Don't you know I'll do the best I can
I know it hurts too much to smile

No, I don't expect you to agree
Yes, it was you as much as me
It's been coming for a while

Won't you let me help you pack your bags
Yes, I'm gonna miss the time we had
No use lying to ourselves about the past
It's time to move on

You don't have to act like you're surprised
'Cause I could see us fading from your eyes
It was only a matter of time

No, I didn't want to be the one
But I don't like what we've become
Neither one of us was trying

Won't you let me help you pack your bags
Yes, I'm gonna miss the time we had
No use lying to ourselves about the past
It's time to move on
It's time to move on

this is the kind of song heavy metal bands used to write for the intimate unplugged segment when the singer and guitarist come downstage and sit in chairs. excellent arena rock dynamics

You make such great one-take demos! Pristine guitar sound & playing, & excellent vocals well-mixed. Classic writing, just fine like this or would be great with a full band treatment. Well done.

Ah, a sad one. Your vocal carries the emotion and I enjoyed the guitar strumming throughout. Good melody that lifts at the chorus.

Great acoustic rock vibe and lovely, sad lyrics. My favorite lines: “You don't have to act like you're surprised. 'Cause I could see us fading from your eyes” Nice!

Heartbreaking but beautiful, you really have a knack for these gut wrenching break up songs. I love the chord progression, it fits vert nicely with the lyrics. Another great job!

I agree with the above. It certainly has that unplugged set feel to it. A great performance TC!
