I was lucky enough to get not one but TWO collaborations - with two of my favorite lyricists Smile - from the "Slow Down" superskirmish. Here's the one with the fabulous @cindyrella. This was a lot of fun!

Lyrics:

Slow Down Blues
© 2020 Lyrics by Cindy Prince, Music by Sharon Stepler

V1:
Slow down
Sing a tune
Sit a spell
And watch the moon

Take it easy
Lollygag
Listen to
Some old time rag

Chorus:
When you take life really slow
Play guitar or a little banjo
Or piano or sax
Stop grindin' that ax
And relax

V2:
Slow down
Bide your time
Doin' nothin'
Ain't a crime

Take it easy
On a porch swing
Sit and ponder
Everything

Chorus:
When you take life really slow
Play guitar or a little banjo
Or piano or sax
Stop grindin' that ax
And relax

Bridge
Lazy ain't as crazy as it seems
No lazy ain't as crazy at all

Chorus:
When you take life really slow
Play guitar or a little banjo
Or piano or sax
Stop grindin' that ax
And relax
Guitar or banjo
Piano or sax
Just relax

I'm so delighted with how wonderfully this came together with your many talents! Including the guitar, banjo, etc is masterful and so much fun! Thanks!!

Great, uplifting message! Wonderful rhymes throughout, especially in the chorus! Great flow. The music and vocal add a nice lift...kind of carefree and happy. Lovely stuff! Well done.

What a delight! This swing-blues style is one of my favorites. The little bits of banjo and other instruments are perfectly incorporated to echo the lyrics without being cheesy or too on-the-nose. Will be saving this one for sure!

I love how the instruments come in after they appear in the lyrics. The music is lovely and the lyrics are witty! So fun to listen to! A very relaxing piece! Sounds like you took life real slow.. Smile

Here we are.
Cindy's nostalgic lyric so delightfully put to gently swinging music with a heavenly vocal. What's not to like? The bridge is to die for. (wish I'd written it!)
Chilling here, taking it in. Great, great collab. For me, discovering these (and knowing they have the chance to ocuur) is the real magic of these challenge. Great job.
Cindy, thank for the kind words on my 2 tracks. Much appreciated.
Scubed, nice to see and hear you here again this year.
Wishing both of you a lovely creative summer of music! Hugs.

Me, going through Cindy's "back catalog" again. Don't know how I had missed this one.

Beautiful job, ladies. @Scubed--I'm not all that familiar with your work, but I'll start paying attention. You have a lovely voice and I love the guitar.

Nice collab, ladies--glad I took a peak back.
