So, um... life has gotten *INTERESTING* around here.

My friend and oft-time collaborative partner @DeannaSweidel challenged me to write a song called Decisions, Decisions.

So here it is.

Lyrics:

Decisions, Decisions

What black shirt do I wear today?
Do I wear the beige pants or the grey?
Decisions decisions

Is it time to stay or is it time to go?
Do I have the information that I need to know?
Decisions decisions

From a certain point of view it all seems trivial indeed
From another point of view it all drives me round the bend
I know that I am cared for, I have everything I need
But I really don't know what to do and where this will end
Decisions, decisions

What blend of tea should I drink tonight?
What should I read to help me unwind at night?
Decisions decisions

Have I reached the end of line for me out here?
Will the answer ever become crystal clear?
Decisions decisions

From a certain point of view it all seems trivial indeed
From another point of view it all drives me round the bend
I know that I am cared for, I have everything I need
But I really don't know what to do and where this will end
Decisions, decisions

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Love the guitar intro and the words are perfect. Aren't you glad you decided to take on this challenge? Smile

Y'know, making these kinds of decisions bug the stew out of me quite often. I once toyed with the idea of doing like Seth Brundle or Albert Einstein and just have the same suit dedicated to each day so that I don't have to worry about making a decision as to what to wear. However, that never (and probably won't) happen. Nonetheless, I'm getting off-topic. Nice work on the challenge. Guitar play is cool and that chorus is down-right catchy.

Cool melody and chord progression. There is a neat feel to this song, I like the rhythm to the chorus. Great lyrics also, some mundane questions and more introspective choruses.

You know, kids are so impatient to grow up, not realizing that the adult world involves making endless decisions.
Really nice guitar work here.
That descending chord progression is effective.
Great confident vox, too.
Excellent tune you got here.

I love the concept of this song because we make so many decisions each day. Do we really stop to think about those decisions and what rammifications they might have on us? This was addictive in some parts (I loved the information do I need to know part)

It feels like you could be sitting at a coffee house and all of a sudden Metalfoot walks on stage and you don't expect this, but then WHAMMO! It hits you like a mack truck full of awesome! I love your voice on this and I love these lyrics. Thank goodness Deanna challenged you because this is EPIC! Freaking wonderful, catchy, upbeat, and real. So real. What decision should we make? EASY!

+1 on the endless decision comment above. Never knew how simple my life was. The descending chromatic progression strongly supports the lyric and the difficulty of life-changing decisions, and the extra weight that lends to the seemingly small ones.

Love that descending harmony that goes on just a little bit longer than I expect. The rhythm is fantastic. The lyrics are solid and totally relatable. They are light and charming. This is all so wonderfully catchy! Totally a keeper. Once it's safe to play out again you should definitely play this one.

The guitar in this keeps things moving along while your vocals are filled with emotion and poise. Its a great mix. The rhythm really keep the listener interested.

I like your use of descending chords, and the way the guitar rhythm and vocal line match in lines like 'trival indeed' and 'drive me 'round the bend' in the chorus.
