I’m Alright

I’m Alright

Liner Notes:

A 15 minute write to the Sunday skirmish prompt title.

I’m Alright

Got swine flu
In the middle of FAWM
But I’m alright
I’m alright

Trip to the ER
Cost as much as a car
But I’m alright
I’m alright

Learning to live with less
Learning to make do
I’m alright and feeling blessed
Gonna pull through

Lost my job
To COVID closures
But I’m alright
I’m alright

Got enough
To get what we need
And I’m alright
I’m alright

Repeat chorus

Writing songs
Feeling like I don’t belong
But I’m alright
I’m alright
But I’m alright
But I’m alright
But I’m alright
But I’m alright

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Often the words belie reality! This may well be another, or maybe he is! Nice.

Well, forget about not belonging. This is a very coherent write. I hope it's mostly fiction but if not, I hope you're really alright.

i like the approach, and the conversational nature of this musically works so well with the lyric- its really quite charming and 'quite all right!". very nice job indeed! excellent skirmish!

i did a very last minute one, interesting to hear everyone's take

I do sincerely hope you are alright?? This song speaks volumes in its simplicity. Great lyrics and performance. Having worked in an ER for 20 plus years in the UK I can’t get my head around someone having to pay to be treated.

I like your philosophical approach. (Hope you really are alright, Andy!) The repetition works very very well here.

Damn, you're one optimistic dude. Probably one of the reasons I like you so much. But I think I'd be writing songs about razor blades based on your verses. Glad you're around, Andy, and making music.

Good grief, you're a chipper guy! I cannot seem to handle any of this well. Of course, maybe you're talking about someone else, not you entirely, hmmm?

you get the spoken/melodic balance very well on all your songs ive heard up to now - has a jaunty upbeat feeling, which to me speaks of feeling more positive about the future even though the present tells otherwise - maybe we will reach the other side of it soon, i feel it also expresses!

You're really cranking them out this summer!
This is a great viewpoint - a mix of humor, resignation, playful defiance and keepin' on keepin' on. I'd say that's the right attitude right about now.
And I love what you're doing lately with guitar and vocal!

I love the optimism in this one, both musically and lyrically. There's a hint of bittersweetness in it but you ultimately keep your head up and that's something to appreciate. Good work!
