Liner Notes:

I'm alright. Are you?

Lyrics:

V1
I woke up this morning, rolled outta bed
Splashed cold water all over my head
Who’s that in the mirror?
Oh, am I alright?

I got to the office, sat at my desk
Prayed no one noticed I’d overslept
Oh please just fire me
Oh, am I alright?

Oh, Oh, am I alright?

V2
Got home and all you did was start a fight
Do we have to do this every night?
I’m so very tired
Oh, am I alright?

C1
Oh, am I alright?
Just wanna be right
No more fight or flight
Startin’ over tonight
I’m gonna be alright

V3
I woke up this morning, rolled outta bed
Splashed cold water all over my head
That’s me in the mirror
Gonna be alright

I told my boss to take a hike today
Are you leavin’? Are you gonna stay?
So we can work it out
I’m gonna be alright

C2
Oh, oh, gonna be alright
Gonna be alright
No more fight or flight
Startin’ over tonight
I’m gonna be alright

That is a really good song, skirmish or not. Hits you from the first line.

I like the juxtaposition of cadence between verse and chorus, very effective.

Nice job determined to be alright in the face of all those difficulties. You know it's a bluesy tune when it's starts off "I woke up this mornin'". Wink Good skirmishing.

I like the transition from anger and wondering if you are alright, to taking action and actually being alright! Brava

I like your "gonna be alright" refrain. And I like the contrast with the question in the chorus. It's a good angle.

This is a great write! Really love the questioning, moving onto the trying to convince yourself!

This is so cool. The vocal melodies are so sweet. The lyrics spin a great yarn and affirmation at the end. Superb!!

Great song! I love the transition from weariness to defiance. Powerful, exuberant vocal and strumming.
