Liner Notes:

This is for the skirmish prompt "midnight train"

I picked up the ukulele to avoid a ballad and damn it, here with are with another damn ballad.

One this track:
Ukulele
Vocals

This is one I'm going to revisit at a later date, I feel a full arrangement is in order for it but will keep the ukulele.

Lyrics:

Verse: am em
Chorus: C G am

Verse
The sky drew dark
The rain poured down
Not a soul
Left in this town

Chorus
No one to know
What she did
The dirty secrets
That she hid

Verse
The train rolled in
She rolled out
Leaving behind
Any fear or doubt

Chorus
No one to know
What she did
The dirty secrets
That she hid

Verse
The raged on
Oh night wind wailed
No turning back
She cannot fail

Chorus
No one to know
What she did
The dirty secrets
That she hid

Verse
Freedom seemed
So far away
She had to leave
She couldn't stay

I love the vocal take on this. An intriguing story that still doesn't let the reader/listener know what she did... great take on this.

I like the story here and the mystery as you build it up. Cool beat. Sweet vocal. Nice work.

The chorus melody is gorgeous. And your vocal is beautiful. I seriously love that chorus.

Trains and mystery are always a good combo. Love your performance!

This is so wonderfully mysterious and ambiguous that it keeps the listener thinking about it long after the song is done - your melody and vocals really shine and your lyrics tell a good story with a poetic voice. Well done!

I so want to know her dirty secrets now... The chorus is catchy and you got some interesting lyrics. It's interesting that several of use have used rain to go with the midnight train theme. Good job. Smile
