Superskirmish continues: Music came fairly quickly with that first verse. Struggled with the lyric the rest of the hour.

Lyrics:

I bought a ticket for a train
I waited all night in the rain
I was hoping you'd come by and tell me
Everything was gonna be all right
But you never came

I never got to say goodbye
I guess I never realized
Just how much I would hurt you
How deep I would cut you
When I told you a single lie

And the rain fell down
On that midnight train
I waited for you
But I waited in vain
The rain fell down
On that midnight train
I had to ride it alone

Felt like I rode for days and days
Running from a love that I betrayed
I never got the chance to tell you
Never got to apologize
For all the mistakes I made

And the rain fell down
On that midnight train
I waited for you
But I waited in vain
The rain fell down
On that midnight train
I had to ride it alone

TC "Running from a love that I betrayed" really hits it out of the park in the lyrics. I really love this one. Might be one of my favs from you.

For a very fast one take skirmish, this is excellent. I feel it defo has great bones and is a keeper Smile The lyric is quite evocative of what is happening in the story, with the visual pictures being painted working really well.

Once again, you come in with a great guitar lick! The lyrics work very well with the feel of the guitar. Very nice job with the prompt, great skirmish!

Great storytelling lyric. Enjoyed the melody. Good use of rhymes. End result is a strong song.

This is so good. I love the harmony and melody in the chorus. Especially the first line "and the rain fell down".
