Prompt: Truth

Love song to a dying parent

Lyrics:

This Is The Truth

V1
I think of you more
than you know
you run through my thoughts
like rivers flow
I hold space for you
in my heart
you made my love grow
like flames from sparks

PC
and it has always
been that way
more than I
show or say

C
this is the truth
you need to know
this is the truth
you need to hold
this is the truth ....
I love you so

V2
I admire you more
than you know
your wisdom fills me
like seeds sowed
I wish joy for you
every day
with comfort vast
as the Milky Way

PC
and it has always
been that way
more than I
show or say

C
this is the truth
you need to know
this is the truth
you need to hold
this is the truth ...
I love you so

B
you gave me strength
taught me stoic ways
how I wish now
some of that would
go away

C
this is the truth
you need to know
this is the truth
you need to hold
this is the truth ...
I love you so

This is a lovely lyric. Heartfelt without feeling forced. "This is the truth you need to know" is a strong set up for the pay off line. You're on a roll this 50/90.

You always bring out the teary-eyes in me. While I don't have any parents coming close to the end currently, I know it is not far off. I need to do more. I need to say more, but it is so hard. It is also so time sensitive, so I need to get over it. Thank you for this. <3

I like the simple, emotional nature of these lyrics. I could see this as one of those timeless, simple pop ballads. And if the prompt was just "Truth" (I didn't see it) you certainly took it in a unique and interesting personal direction.

Your warm and fragile take on the so abused concept of "truth" is wow and refreshing. I found a warm and fragile tune to accompany it. Smile Wanna hear it?
