Liner Notes:

Man, my uke skillz are rust-y! And I will find that chord in the chorus, and I will play it, damn it!

“Contrariwise,' continued Tweedledee, 'if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.” -Lewis Carroll

Lyrics:

V1
I hate to be the one to tell you
I hate to be the one to let you know
But their truth will not set you free
And it won’t tell you which way to go

PC1
So I’ll let you in on a little secret
A little thing I’ve learned
There’s many ways to live your life
To avoid getting burned

C
Start out by

Not giving a single fuck
About what other people say

Then figure out what works for you
And head there straight away

Oh once you’ve started doing that
They’ll be confused and dismayed
But you just go and walk on by
Cuz you’re made in the shade

V2
So give yourself a rockin’ high five
Oh give yourself a pat on the back
You’re awesome and you know it cuz
You are pulling away from the pack

PC2
And go pass on our little secret
That little thing we’ve learned
That there are many ways to live
To avoid getting burned

You're right, I am awesome.

5 Golden Motis Points for using the phrase "not giving a single fuck" in a song.

I don't know what it is about you folks Dan Anda and your ukeleles, but they seem to be really popular with y'all antipodeans. Thanks for giving us another example of how uke is done right.

This had me grinnin' from the git go and then the chorus cracked me all the way up. Great write and absolutely words to live by.

Hmmm...that use sounds alright to me. And that little gaff at the end? Love it! You've got it made in the shade, m'lady!

Words to live by and the laughing chord progression is a keeper!

Lovely uke playing and I like the chorus melody quite a bit. That second chord on the uke is delicious.

Not giving a single frick...yeah, I like that a lot.
Can use this during the work day. Should just blast this over the conference meeting phone.
Makes one feel...better.
Uke sounds great. The rawness of the demo is part of the charm here.
Some hard truths for us, but sometimes its what we need to hear. THis is the kind of stuff an old friend who knows they can say whatever they want and however they want to you would say when you're starting to lose it.
Good writing here.

Whoa sister! Tell it like it is in that kick ass chorus - on a uke no less! Way to go creating a very relatable and great sounding song!

Well yeah, your uke skills may be rusty, but they're still better than mine at my best.
Really excellent lyrics for sure (but you knew I'd say that, right?).
It's always easier to get your hard truths heard when they're accompanied by ukulele music.
Your laugh really made the song; thanx for not re-recording this.
Great work!

I don't consider this NSFW because 1) I'm so foul-mouthed in my daily life and ) this is good, solid advice. And you deliver it delightfully! Charmingly defiant ... and I love that laugh at the end!

I love these lyrics so much! And the uke sounds great Smile And I absolutely love the very end with the laugh - perfect ending
