Liner Notes:

The skirmish prompt was to make your own prompt using the letters in 'thermodynamics'. I kind of went overboard and tried to use as many legal words as I could. It was really fun! I think the following all count:

Sycamore
Diner
cashier
reminds
Orchids
crayons
dairymen
senators
crimson
masonry
harmonise (I'm not British so this is a little illegal)
stained
midstory
romance
cyanide
dream
steam
Anytime
oysterman
Marmite
señorita
honest
canister
horsemint (this was my favorite word of the whole challenge!)
timecard
monarchy

Lyrics:

The cashier at the Sycamore Diner reminds me of you
Orchids on her pinafore, crayons in her pocket
She greets dairymen and senators in crimson shoes

I’ve seen her stare at the masonry, harmonise with the radio
Clean the stained area guide
Like she’s in midstory, just waiting on the romance or the cyanide

Sheila, come home, it’s not impossible, it’s not a dream
It’s just me in the Sycamore Diner running out of steam

Anytime I come in here the oysterman is in the same booth
Marmite on toast, a señorita tattoo,
Giving some poor tourist the honest truth

He’s got a canister of horsemint he swears is cinnamon
No one takes him seriously
The cashier’s got her timecard out, just nodding while he’s cursing the monarchy

Sheila, come home, it’s not impossible, it’s not a dream
It’s just me in the Sycamore Diner running out of steam
It’s just me in the Sycamore Diner running out of steam

Please keep your comments respectful, honest, and constructive. Please focus on the song and not the demo.

Wow I went in a topical (science and electric cars, surprise Smile ) direction but I really like this idea too and wish I would have made a longer word list.

That's quite a list. I had to look up horsemint, but oysterman is my favorite--that was quite a reach. Cool how you made a story out of these words--I was going to say random, but maybe it doesn't really work out that way on some level.

What a clever take on the prompt! I really love all the words you generated and used! A+ for awesome overachievement!

Wow indeed. Outstanding work. I had a list as long as yours and there are none of the same words. Yours are great. I feel bad I didn't get Sycamore as it was my phone prefix when I was a little kid. Fantastic job on the prompt. Regardless of any of that, it's a really good tune telling a story very well. Thanks for playing. Huzzah!

Brilliantly done, the mind must have been in overdrive. Great skirmish

Oh wow....genius.
This would never have occurred to me to do it this way, and even if it did, I don't have the writing skills to pull it off, nor sing it.
I feel this is one of those times I just sit and listen to the absolute skill of a true song-writer and wordsmith.
And on top of that, you made it sound so good. I love your vocal melody throughout the whole thing, and its got the perfect guitar strumming to accompany it.
This is one of my favorite things I've witnessed in 50/90 this year.

That's really great work - what a cool list of words to work with! Not only your fantastic wordplay but super-strong vocals and guitar playing too!!
